Renewing Your Licenses in California
In California, professional licenses must be kept up to date to ensure that your patients are receiving the most current standards of professional care. Each specialty has its own requirements, fees, and penalties
Medical licenses must be renewed after every two years with at least 50 hours of continuing medical education (CME). Nursing licenses must be renewed after two birthdays, after completing 30 hours of continuing education. The DBC requires that dental licenses must be renewed every two years. Dentist must have completed at least 50 hours of continuing education, including specialized education in infection, California law, and life support.
